Luke 5:8-11 When Simon Peter realized what had happened, he fell to his knees before Jesus and said, “Oh, Lord, please leave me—I’m too much of a sinner to be around you.” For he was awestruck by the number of fish they had caught, as were the others with him. His partners, James and John, the sons of Zebedee, were also amazed. Jesus replied to Simon, “Don’t be afraid! From now on you’ll be fishing for people!” And as soon as they landed, they left everything and followed Jesus.

Do you find yourself trembling at the Holiness of God? Simon did not only look at the miracle but also understood that this had not been done in the flesh.

He quickly asked Jesus to go away from him, his unworthy state, his unholy state, and all. He felt unqualified to be with the Son of God, who had just used his boat to preach to a multitude.

Jesus’ response disqualified his unqualified state. And all Simon needed to do was to make up his mind to follow Jesus.

The blood of Jesus is our qualifier. Have you made up your mind to follow Jesus as an individual or family? Have you clearly looked into your unworthy state? Yet Jesus is saying come let me teach you to become a fisher of men?

Be bold and say yes and let Jesus begin a work in you and let Him bestow His glory upon you that you become a light to many.

Father, in the Name of Jesus, you know my frame, yet you still tell me to come closer, I choose not to condemn myself and say, “Here I am.” I am ready to follow, Amen.
