My Place of Rest Ministries is a ministry here to return marriages, families and lost destinies back to the original plan of GOD.

My Place of Rest Ministries was started in 2016 by Vision Bearers- Mr Paul Magera and Pastor Margaret Magera.

The name: ‘My Place of Rest’- is inspired from Malachi 2:11: Marriage is an institution that he loves, and John 15:4: The Lord God almighty desires to abide in our marriages and us in him. Marriage is the Lord’s sanctuary- The place where He rests.

The ministry started with a prayer altar that was raised with the sole purpose to call on the Name of God for our marriages, families and marriages and families in the nations. From periodical meetings in the year, it later grew into annual marrieds retreat, weekly prayer breakfasts- every Saturday, a women’s conference and men’s conference.

The ministry has since become fully-fledged, with various activities going on throughout the week including family Sunday Services. This in addition to annual scheduled activities like conferences, Marrieds’ retreat, Missions among others. My Place of Rest Ministries has two locations in Kampala Uganda- in Kira Bulindo- which hosts the ministry headquarters and a retreat home- The Mountain of Zion Prayer Mountain in Nakasajja and Lwakhakha in Namisindwa District- Eastern Uganda. The Ministry is mandated  to acquire seven mountains in specified regions across Uganda for the purpose of restoration of Marriage and Family back to God

The ministry is called to return marriage and family to the original plan of God at creation. In the beginning, there was a God given way of life for marriage and family. The family also reflected the unity and harmony as seen in the holy Trinity- Father, Son and Spirit. At the fall of man, the destiny of marriage and family faced attack, but despite the sin and the consequences of it- God presented a way out in his grand plan of salvation.

Marriage is a good thing ordained by God that through the family domain, God will show His glory to the world. Today, it is still possible for marriage and families to exist and operate in the original plan of God- when we return to God and follow his precepts and instructions on what he intended in the beginning.

Here is what we believe in.

  • Marriage is ordained by God and is a union of a Man and a Woman
  • Marriage is the will of God and therefore every marriage has a Kingdom (of God) assignment
  • Marriage is a mirror of the relationship between Christ and the Church
  • Marriage is a Holy institution loved by God
  • Marriage can be restored and every marriage has a fighting chance to thrive
  • Spouses are a gift to each other.
  • The Bible is the infallible Word of God inspired of the Holy Spirit and contains every answer to man’s problem- (2 Timothy 3:16-17)
  • Hosting the presence of God in our homes for our prosperity- (2 Samuel 6:11)
  • Obeying and walking in the word of God in our marriages for the true glory of God to manifest- (Deuteronomy- 11)
  • Unity in everything for through that, God commands a blessing-( Psalms 133)
  • Honouring every authority in a marriage for all authority comes from the Lord- Romans 13:1-7
  • With God all things are possible

To see marriage and family restored to the original plan of God at Creation

Mission:
To return marriage to God through the following ways;

Hosting His Presence in homes through the family altars,

  1. Prayer,
  2. Reading and meditating on the Word of God (both written and revealed)
  3. Living in obedience and submission to the will of God.
  4. Raising goldy off-springs.

Why a ministry for marriage and families?

  • God is the answer: He has heard the cries of his people in the family and has come to their rescue Exodus 3:9-10
  • Rest: God desires that marriage is released to honour and worship Him. He has therefore come to grant rest to families. Exodus 6:3-8
  • Redemption: God has come to with a promise of redemption and is asking us to trust in him and let Him work in our marriages- Isaiah 43.
  • Restoration: God also wants to restore the entire of institution of marriage to its original plan- Jeremiah 33:6-9. He would like marriages to be a place of joy, of praise and honour.
  • Deliverance and salvation: He is asking us to call up on His Name for salvation and deliverance for marriage and families. Joel 2:32, Act 2;21, Romans 10:13
  • God is sovereign: The Lord desires for marriages to look to him and Him alone as our first and last source of help. For whatever we ask in his Name will be done. John 14:13-14

Why is GOD interested in Marriage?

  • Marriage is God’s Institution that He loves (Malachi 2:11); He is therefore the head of the institution and we are simply custodians in his institutions and he therefore will/holds us accountable for how we run it
  • God has set terms and conditions for marriage; It is to bring honour to Him not any Man
  • God bears witness in our marriages and whatever happens in the marriages- Malachi 2:14
  • Marriage is the backbone of the Church as the body of Christ as from/ through it He seeks godly offspring (Malachi 2:15)
