Hearing the word and not obeying it does not qualify you to be born again. The word cautions us to be hearers and doers of the word of God.
Do not be a person who knows the word only, rather be one who knows and walks in accordance to it.
The Word of God comes to transform. A transformed person, family, nation, tribe, people, tongue is what the Spirit of the Lord testifies about.
The word of God you are studying or listening to must end into a transformed you for the glory of God. Sit down and evaluate. Has the word of God made you more bitter, angry, impatient, vengeful, etc. Be true to yourself and return to the truth of His word.
Romans 2:28-29 For you are not a true Jew just because you were born of Jewish parents or because you have gone through the ceremony of circumcision. No, a true Jew is one whose heart is right with God. And true circumcision is not merely obeying the letter of the law; rather, it is a change of heart produced by God’s Spirit. And a person with a changed heart seeks praise from God, not from people.
