My Place of Rest Ministries was started in 2016 by Vision Bearers- Mr Paul Magera and Pastor Margaret Magera.

The name: ‘My Place of Rest’- is inspired from Malachi 2:11: Marriage is an institution that he loves, and John 15:4: The Lord God almighty desires to abide in our marriages and us in him. Marriage is the Lord’s sanctuary- The place where He rests.

The ministry started with a prayer altar that was raised with the sole purpose to call on the Name of God for our marriages, families and marriages and families in the nations. From periodical meetings in the year, it later grew into annual marrieds retreat, weekly prayer breakfasts- every Saturday, a women’s conference and men’s conference.

The ministry has since become fully-fledged, with various activities going on throughout the week including family Sunday Services. This in addition to annual scheduled activities like conferences, Marrieds’ retreat, Missions among others. My Place of Rest Ministries has two locations in Kampala Uganda- in Kira Bulindo- which hosts the ministry headquarters and a retreat home- The Mountain of Zion Prayer Mountain in Nakasajja and Lwakhakha in Namisindwa District- Eastern Uganda. The Ministry is mandated  to acquire seven mountains in specified regions across Uganda for the purpose of restoration of Marriage and Family back to God

The ministry is called to return marriage and family to the original plan of God at creation. In the beginning, there was a God given way of life for marriage and family. The family also reflected the unity and harmony as seen in the holy Trinity- Father, Son and Spirit. At the fall of man, the destiny of marriage and family faced attack, but despite the sin and the consequences of it- God presented a way out in his grand plan of salvation.

Marriage is a good thing ordained by God that through the family domain, God will show His glory to the world. Today, it is still possible for marriage and families to exist and operate in the original plan of God- when we return to God and follow his precepts and instructions on what he intended in the beginning.
